Los Angeles, California

June 7, 2020

In an effort to help increase repertoire options for instrumental ensembles this coming concert season and to give voice to the events of 2020, Los Angeles Film Conducting Intensive (LAFCI) is proud to announce the 2020 New Music Project and Online Festival. This collection of compositions, written by alumni of LAFCI, will be written for instrumentation ranging from solo instrument to ensembles not exceeding twenty (20) musicians, so as to account for social distancing challenges and expectations, and will be made available as a FREE PDF DOWNLOAD for the 2020 concert season (August 1, 2020 - July 1, 2021). From indie films to summer blockbusters and from virtual reality video games to the concert hall, LAFCI alumni represent some of the most accomplished composers working in the industry and to celebrate this free collection of works we will host a free online festival on August 1, 2020. This event will feature selections of the solo instrumental compositions from this anthology and will be performed by renowned artists and members of various international ensembles representing the Canadian Brass, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Hollywood Studio Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Nashville Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, Time for Three and others.
